About Tech Guy of Bend
I started Tech Guy of Bend in 2017 after I saw a need in Central Oregon for a local, reliable “tech guy” who had experience with a wide variety of platforms and brands.
Not someone at the other end of an 800 number who can only help with one device or app. Not someone behind a store counter with a maximum of 15 minutes to spend with each customer. Someone who will come in person to your business or home and take on all your technical needs. Someone to be like an IT department for you or your small business.
Experience
I’ve been building and repairing computers for more than 18 years. I worked for Apple Inc. for six years, including as a Senior AppleCare Specialist. In 2014, I received an AppleCare Excellence Award.
I also spent 4 years doing technical support at an educational institution with more than a thousand computers.
Education
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, cum laude, with a minor in Psychology, from the W.P. Carey School of Business and Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University while on a National Merit Scholarship.
Prior to that I graduated from the Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science Magnet Program at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. I also attended the Mathematics, Science, Computer Science Magnet Program at Takoma Park Middle School. In all, I took Computer Science and Computer Information Systems courses in school for 11 years.
